The BMW X6M is an all-wheel-drive coupe-like premium mid-size SUV that embodies the sporty character in the tradition of high-performance M-series X-family cars ... The main target audience of this crossover is wealthy city dwellers (primarily men) who want get a really dynamic and fast car that allows you to dominate the flow, but at the same time they do not want to sacrifice either comfort, safety or practicality ...

The official presentation of the "charged" off-road vehicle BMW X6 M of the third incarnation with the in-plant marking "F96" took place on October 2, 2019 during an online presentation, and it was "born" only a few months after the release of the "civilian" model with the "G06" index ...

Having changed the generation, the coupe-like crossover remained faithful to its form factor, but at the same time underwent significant metamorphoses - it “moved” to a new modular “trolley”, prescribed a modernized (more powerful) engine under the hood and became noticeably more technologically advanced (although in terms of engineering it was did not reach the passenger "emok").

Exterior

Visually recognizing the third-generation BMW X6 M against the background of a "civilian" model will not be difficult - it is immediately given out by a more aggressive body kit around the body, an enlarged spoiler on the fifth door, mirrors with imitation of double mounting legs and a pair of large-caliber "double-barreled" exhaust system.

Dimensions and weight

The coupe-crossover is 4941 mm long, and its width and height are 2019 mm and 1692 mm, respectively. The wheelbase of the car extends to 2972 mm, and its ground clearance reaches 213 mm.

When loaded, the five-door weighs at least 2295 kg, and its gross weight is three tons.

Interior

Inside, the “third” BMW X6 M boasts a beautiful and “thoroughbred” design, impeccable ergonomics, exclusively premium finishing materials and high quality workmanship.

Its distinctive features against the background of the standard "brother" are not so much a sports multi-steering wheel, additional graphic modes for the instrument cluster and more embossed front seats with integrated headrests, as red elements, namely the engine start button and a pair of programmable keys (M1 and M2 ) on the steering wheel.

The "charged" crossover has parity with the "civilian" versions in terms of cargo-passenger capabilities: the car's interior is able to accommodate the driver and his four companions, and the trunk volume varies from 580 to 1530 liters (depending on the position of the second row of seats).

Specifications

Under the hood of the third-generation BMW X6 M is a 4.4-liter V-shaped eight-cylinder petrol engine with a V-architecture, two twin scroll turbochargers, direct fuel injection, lightweight pistons and phase shifters at the intake and exhaust, available in two boost options:

  • by default, it generates 600 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 750 Nm of torque at 1800-5600 rpm,
  • on the Competition version - 625 hp. at 6000 rpm and 750 Nm of torque at 1800-5800 rpm.

The standard "charged" crossover is equipped with an 8-band "automatic" M Steptronic and an all-wheel drive transmission M xDrive with a multi-plate clutch, transferring traction to the front axle, and an active rear differential Active M with electronic control, redistributing torque between the right and left rear wheels.

From a place to the first "hundred", the five-door catapults after 3.8-3.9 seconds, and accelerates to a maximum of 250 km / h (the speed is electronically limited). Regardless of the version, the car "consumes" at least 12.7 liters of fuel for every 100 km in the combined cycle.

Design features

Structurally, the “third” BMW X6 M in many respects repeats the standard “brother” - it is also based on the modular CLAR bogie with a monocoque body and independent suspensions of both axles (double wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear).

At the same time, already in the "base", the coupe-like SUV can boast of a reinforced body, an adaptive chassis with electronically controlled shock absorbers and more rigid rubber-metal joints, as well as an active rear stabilizer.

The car relies on rack and pinion steering with an active electromechanical amplifier and a variable gear ratio. In addition, this crossover "flaunts" a powerful braking system: in front it has six-piston calipers and 395-mm ventilated discs, and at the rear - single-piston mechanisms and "pancakes" with 380 mm ventilation. The list of options includes carbon-ceramic brakes.

It is expected that in our country for the "charged" coupe-crossover in the basic version they will ask about 8.5 million rubles, while for the Competition version they will have to throw another 600-700 rubles (but the exact prices will be announced later).
