At the end of March 2016, at the international bridegrooms in New York, along with the restyled Acura MDX SUV of the third generation, its gasoline-electric modification with the "Sport Hybrid" prefix in the name debuted. The car became the third "hybrid" in the company's model range, having received three electric motors as a "partnership" for the internal combustion engine. This SUV entered the American market in the spring of 2017, but its appearance in Russia is unlikely.
Visually, the Acura MDX Sport Hybrid is not much different from its usual “brother”, and it is distinguished only by the nameplates with the designation “hybrid essence”. In general, the five-door crossover body demonstrates attractive and dynamic outlines, not devoid of interesting solutions.
In terms of external dimensions, the hybrid "MC" is identical to the standard model: length - 4935 mm, height - 1730 mm, width - 1960 mm. The length of the wheelbase is 2825 mm.
Inside, the Acura MDX Sport Hybrid completely copies a car with a gasoline engine, from design to the quality of finishing materials.
The interior of the "double-movable" crossover is endowed with a seven-seat layout with three rows of seats, and its cargo compartment is designed to carry from 234 to 2574 liters of luggage, depending on the number of passengers on board.
Specifications. The Acura MDX hybrid modification is armed with a 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine generating 294 "horses" and 362 Nm of torque, which is assisted by three electric motors: one of them is mounted in a 7-band "robot" with two clutches, and the other two spin the wheels rear axle. The total output of the power plant is 330 horsepower, but its maximum thrust has not yet been announced.
In combined driving conditions, the car consumes no more than 9 liters of fuel per "hundred" according to EPA standards, but its dynamic and speed indicators are currently unknown.
The technical part of the Acura MDX Sport Hybrid repeats the standard version of the EMDX: the SUV uses independent suspensions on the front and rear axles (MacPherson struts and a spring-lever system, respectively), disc brakes on all wheels and an adaptive electric power steering.
However, the "double-moving" car is capable of boasting an adaptive chassis with four modes of operation - Comfort, Normal, Sport and Sport +.
Prices. The hybrid version of the Acura MDX entered the dealerships of the brand in the United States in the spring of 2017 at a price of $ 51,960 (this is just over 3 million rubles, at the exchange rate at the time of the start of sales).
The basic equipment of this modification includes: leather interior trim and natural wood inserts, a three-zone "climate", a modern infotainment system with a pair of large screens, seats with a full range of electric adjustments, a security package "AcuraWatch" (emergency braking system, monitoring system lane movement, adaptive cruise control ...), fully LED "optics" and much more.
