The Ferrari 488 Pista is a rear-wheel-drive mid-engined premium supercar and, in combination, an extreme racing version of the "standard" two-door, which is capable of driving both on the track and on public roads with equal success ... It is available in several body versions - coupe and roadster with hard convertible top ...

The world premiere of the "ideological heir" of the 458 Speciale supercar took place in March 2018 - at the International Geneva Motor Show ...

But his open performance came a little later - in August of the same year, making his debut at the Elegance Contest in Pebble Beach as part of the automobile week in Monterey, California ...

Despite the funny and caustic name "Pista" for the Russian ear (although translated from Italian it is just a "track"), the car received a serious "stuffing": in comparison with the standard model, it became lighter and more powerful, and also acquired a lot of technical solutions borrowed from the purely racing 488 GTE and 488 Challenge.

Outside, the Ferrari 488 Pista reveals its extreme essence through contrasting aerodynamic fin, curved S-Duct front end, slightly raised spoiler, visually decoupled from the body using black vents, nose-to-tail racing stripes and rims original design.

The supercar is 4605 mm long, 1975 mm wide, and 1206 mm high. The wheelbase extends at 2,650 mm at the two-door, and its ground clearance is 155 mm.

The dry weight of the closed car is 1280 kg (which is immediately 90 kg less than in the case of the base coupe), while the open version weighs 100 kg more.

Inside the Ferrari 488 Pista, the "racing mood" is set by bare carbon fiber on the dashboard, aluminum on the floor and a tightly sealed wall in place of the glove box lid.

In general, the decoration of the "extreme" two-door repeats that of the standard model: minimalist design, sporty atmosphere, high-quality performance and a two-seater layout with bucket seats.

The Ferrari 488 Pista is powered by a 3.9-liter aluminum V8 petrol engine with twin turbochargers, direct injection, carbon fiber intake manifold, titanium connecting rods, heat-resistant alloy exhaust manifold and lightweight crankshaft and flywheel.
It generates 720 horsepower at 8000 rpm and 770 Nm of torque at 3000 rpm, and works in conjunction with a 7-speed preselective "robot", rear-wheel drive transmission and a third-generation E-Diff differential with electronically controlled locking.

Such a high potential provides the coupe with impressive "running" characteristics: from zero to 100 km / h it "catapults" after 2.85 seconds, and from zero to second "hundred" - in just 7.6 seconds. The maximum speed of the two-door is "340+" km / h.
The roadster is inferior to its closed "brother" only in acceleration from 0 to 200 km / h - this exercise takes him 8 seconds.

Structurally, the Ferrari 488 Pista repeats the base model: a space frame at the base, made of aluminum, independent double wishbones at the front and a multi-link at the rear with adaptive shock absorbers filled with magnetorheological fluid, electric power steering and carbon ceramic disc brakes "in a circle".

True, this car differs in different settings for the gearbox and chassis, it is equipped with Michelin tires specially "welded" for it, and boasts an SSC slip control assistant and an FDE electronic add-on (it individually adjusts the pressure in the braking devices, relying on instantaneous driving parameters) ...

The Ferrari 488 Pista coupe is sold at a price of 285,000 euros (~ 22.3 million rubles), but the cost of the roadster has not yet been announced (but it will definitely be more expensive than the closed model).
