The second generation of the mid-size crossover Acura MDX made its official debut in April 2006 at the auto industry exhibition in New York, and in October it hit the conveyor of the Canadian company Honda. In 2010, the car underwent modernization, as a result of which it received a refreshed appearance, new equipment and a 6-band "automatic", which replaced the 5-speed transmission at the post.

In this form, the "Japanese" existed until 2013, having sold more than 276 thousand copies, after which it experienced another reincarnation.

The second "release" of the Acura MDX is a premium mid-size crossover that has a five-door body and a seven-seater saloon.

The total length of the car is 4867 mm, of which the distance between the axles fits into 2750 mm, the width is 1994 mm, and the height is 1733 mm.
The "marching" weight of the off-road vehicle is 2084 mm, and the gross weight reaches 2600 kg.

Specifications. The "second" MDX was equipped with gasoline naturally aspirated engines with six V-shaped cylinders and distributed injection, which with a working volume of 3.7 liters develops 300 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 366 Nm of torque at 4500 rpm.

Initially, the motor was combined with a 5-speed automatic transmission, and since 2010 - with a 6-speed automatic transmission. By default, the crossover was fitted with an "advanced" SH-AWD all-wheel drive technology with a pair of rear clutches that distribute traction between the rear wheels.

The base for the second generation Acura MDX is the architecture from the Honda Pilot with a load-bearing body structure, a transversely placed power plant and an independent suspension "in a circle". The classic McPherson struts are mounted on the front of the car, and a multi-link at the back.
The steering system on the "Japanese" is represented by a rack and pinion mechanism with a hydraulic booster, and the brake complex is formed by front discs with ventilation and rear disc devices (plus there is ABS and other systems).

Officially, the second-generation crossover was sold only in the North American market, but it is often found on the roads of Russia.

The main advantages of Acura MDX are attractive design, premium interior, roomy interior, powerful engine, excellent dynamics and a high level of comfort.
But it was not without its drawbacks - expensive maintenance, high fuel consumption and the need to order many spare parts from the USA or Canada.
